The Cannon Beach Gallery is pleased to announce that Jennifer Zika of the Portland Art Museum’s Rental Sales Gallery will be curating a juried art show in September, entitled Room with a View. This exhibit will feature painter Deborah DeWit in addition to the juried show and opens on Saturday, September 8 with an Artist’s Reception that evening from 6-8pm. The monthly Artist’s Reception at the Cannon Beach Gallery are a lovely way to mingle with artists, community members, and visitors while enjoying lively conversation, light appetizers and libations. The exhibit will run until Sunday, September 30 and is being underwritten by Escape Lodging of Cannon Beach, Oregon.

Aritst, Deborah DeWit, has recently moved to the Oregon Coast where she is remodeling a 1922 farm house with her husband, filmmaker Carl Vandervoort. A well-known Northwest artist, DeWit has been featured in several books, Traveling Light: Chasing and Illuminated Life, a literary memoir about her photographic years; In the Presence of Books, a portfolio of over 40 of her pastels and paintings about reading and the book; and Painting Cats a story of her experience taming a feral cat, named Cabbit, illustrated by her many cat paintings.

Artists interested in submitting work to the juried component of the show should bring their artwork in to the gallery (located in Mid-Town at 1064 S. Hemlock St.) Thursday, September 6 between 10am-4pm for consideration. For more information on how to exhibit at the Cannon Beach Gallery, visit our website,
