“In Bloom – Siletz Bay”
This group of rocks, known as “The Sisters” is located in Siletz Bay on the Central Oregon Coast. They are a frequent subject of mine as a painter and I never drive Highway 101 without stopping to see what they have to offer on any given day. I painted this watercolor during the summer bloom cycle of Montbretia which are one of my favorite flowers to paint. Discovering vibrant wild blossoms and fog veiled sea stacks makes my job a little easier.

“Raven’s Haven”
Ravens are super smart and dear to my heart. When our paths cross I’ll greet them in hopes they’ll recognize I’m no threat and allow me time to take a couple of pictures. Usually they fly away immediately as I raise my camera, but with persistence I now have several images to paint from. In this watercolor the raven’s position was the final part of a tricky composition.
