Cannon Beach Gallery in Midtown hosts Five Artists – a showcase representing the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology on Cascade Head near Neskowin. The exhibit features Carol Riley, Andie Thrams, Deborah DeWit, Frank Boyden, and Greg Wilbur – artists who have been instructors and board members at the Center. Frank Boyden is co-founder of the 270-acre sanctuary for creative learning. His selection of etchings depict form and motion in deep hues. Carol Riley’s sumptuous watercolors depict bird and botanical themes in vibrant colors that would illuminate any space. Andie Thram’s paintings depict the depth and mystery of the forest. Artist Greg Wilbur employed an ancient metal-smithing process to stretch malleable metal into freestanding sculptures and dynamic wall hangings that add striking architecture to a room. Deborah DeWit brings on the gilt with “Neighborhood” and a series of paintings depicting everyday sights in extraordinary renderings The show runs through July 31.
