Driftwood Restaurant & Lounge – Serving the best steaks to Cannon Beach for 60 years. When visitors ask locals for a restaurant recommendation, most often they are sent in search of the Driftwood.

Locals boast that everybody has a favorite item on the menu, from our Petite Filet to Razor Clams and Clam Chowder to French Dip Sandwiches. The cry we hear most often is “Don’t Change a Thing!” So, rather than change what works so well, we’ve added more of a good thing with the addition of our new outdoor patio. Located in the heart of Cannon Beach’s main street our new patio is prime real estate for the best outdoor seating in town combined with some of the best, freshest food in our little beach community.

A log restaurant was first erected in 1921 on the corner of 2nd and Hemlock by Paul Bartel. It served the loggers in the area, some of whom slept in small cabins behind the restaurant. Tales of encounters with bears have been recalled by former employees.

In 1976 Tom and Suzy Morris purchased the cabin and added the first restrooms. The increase in business that the restaurant enjoyed took its toll on the original log building and a new, larger log building was erected in 1985.

Hull-FirstLight-SilverPoint

First Light – Silver Point

The morning sun was already illuminating the clouds offshore as I walked by Silver Point recently. The first kiss of sunlight was hitting the sea stacks and breakers as well. Overnight the receding tide had erased the evidence of the prior day’s activities. One of the reasons I love this part of the coast is you will likely have the beach to yourself if you are out walking as the sun rises, which is simply good for my soul.

It is no secret that our reputation is well earned; it has been referred to as a Cannon Beach Icon in many publications and by a large portion of our customer base. In 1996 we earned a ranking as one of the Top Fifty Pizza Restaurants in the Nation by Pizza Today Magazine.

After 20 years of customers asking for additional seating we have opened a second dining room located just upstairs. We now have seating for an additional 45 guests and will be offering this space for private parties and catered functions.
